This site is intended for those students enrolled in one of our Educational Programmes. You must be a registered user to access most areas of the website. If you believe you should have access and cannot log in, please contact your programme leader who will be happy to advise you.

OPEN LEARNING / THE OPEN UNIVERSITY

The site provides material relevant to your programme, for review and download. The OpenLearn website gives free access to Open University course materials. This is the LearningSpace, where you'll find hundreds of free study units, each with a discussion forum. Study independently at your own pace or join a group and use the free learning tools to work with others.

TUTOR PROGRAMMES FOR 2020/21

As part of our service to develop potential tutors and provide for updating existing tutors, we intend running several programmes to meet the Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training. This new set of modules will also support the "Teaching Faculty Framework of the PHECC (Republic of Ireland).

    Available courses

    The Education and Training Programme is designed to develop potential Tutors' knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to Identify Training Needs, from which they can Design, Deliver, Assess and Evaluate Learning. This programme is designed to meet the requirements for Level 4 of the Education and Training Award and has been listed on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF).  

    Scheme of work for the Methods of Instruction Course.

    This short course will cover the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to meet the rudimentary elements of planning and delivering a learning experience to students/learners.

    The course overall objective is:

    TTSSBAT, “using the materials provided, design, deliver, assess and evaluate a motivating learning experience to meet the identified training needs of your students/learners”.
